do you make movies?

I am producing a short film in the fall of 2025 called Hidden Beneath. It is a character driven story with a scandalous trafficking incident as the backdrop. I am not a cinematographer or sound recordist, so I have brought in people with those skills to help me tell this story. If this film is well received, there will be more as I have written this story as a trilogy. Ever since I first began sticking my nose into the world of indie film, I’ve heard many filmmakers wrestle with the task of coming up with their next story idea. In my case, I started with the story and then decided that a short film may be the best way to tell it. Movies are such a powerful medium, and I am excited about this ambitious project. I do plan to open a crowdfunding campaign after filming is wrapped. This way, potential supporters can see that a movie was actually made, as well as enjoy some behind the scenes shots. If you might be interested in supporting this film, you can leave your email address on the Hidden Beneath page of this website and I’ll notify you when I open the campaign.

what is Your book about?

I have self published a book called Christians Avoiding Monsters. The book’s description is probably the best overview, but the devil is definitely in the details. Pun intended. This book is a bit provocative, but that was not the goal. Instead, I contend that reality is quite provocative, and most of us have either been too distracted to care, or too comfortable to admit it. In the book I make the case that this avoidance is not a good thing, and contrary to what many people believe, they do not have good reasons for doing it.

Just between you and me, I am not a writer. Hopefully that doesn’t get around. But one thing I have found in adulthood is, when you really have something you want to say, sometimes writing about it comes easily. You should give it a try yourself. Christians Avoiding Monsters is on Amazon in paperback and eBook formats. Just as soon as time allows, I will also narrate it so that Audible folks can listen to it. I am sincerely honored that podcaster, YouTuber, and brother in the faith Lance Hightower of the Monster 911 Podcast wrote the Foreword to the book.

What is famcore?

Originally, Famcore was the name given to my YouTube channel that was primarily aimed at men/dads to discuss worldviews, Christian apologetics, teaching your kids to think critically, etc. Now I have done a slight pivot with the channel to focus on living out a faithful Christian worldview in the context of the reality of monsters. Famcore now serves as a video outlet of the topics discussed in my book, and beyond. My goal is to let experiencers know that they are heard, and to bridge the gap between them and Christians that have been avoiding monsters for no good reasons.

What is the “worldview defense”?

While creating Famcore videos about critical thinking and Christian apologetics, I also created full video courses for a deeper dive into the topics. These lessons are heavily stolen influenced by the incredible apologetic teachings of the late Dr. Greg Bahnsen. Understanding how to defend your faith with these methods is life changing. The videos were created in 2017 with my camera phone, so it’s hard not to notice the “ancient” look of the videos, but I still proudly stand behind the content. They are hosted on the Thinkific platform, so don’t be alarmed if you click and are taken over there.

If you have upper elementary/early middle school kids, I’d recommend the free “Rated G For General Audiences” videos. Again, totally free and always will be, they are a fun and engaging way to introduce your kids to critical thinking. These videos generate really good conversations between parents and their children. The other course titled Think Rightly is geared to adults, and the course is offered in Small, Medium, and Large sizes.
